Ringwood School of Music offers weekly private piano lessons with a conservatory-trained piano teacher.

Recitals

Our teachers are all actively performing and we encourage our students to do the same by preparing them to perform twice a year at recitals we organize in the Ringwood area.

Customized Lessons

We personalize the lessons specifically for each student based on the level of experience, age, and musical style desired to learn.

About Ringwood School of Music

At Ringwood School of Music piano lessons are our specialty! We have been teaching all ages and levels of piano for over 20 years! We offer a free trial lesson for all new students beginners to advanced. Our teachers are all professional and experienced musicians who are also all conservatory-trained from some of the best music schools in the world including The Juilliard School of Music and Manhattan School of Music.

  • All of our teachers are actively performing in the area.
  • We encourage all our students to prepare and perform twice yearly at recitals in the Ringwood NJ area.
  • Ringwood School of Music will come to you or you may come to us at our studio for your weekly lesson.
  • Students are encouraged to prepare and perform for our in-person or video recitals in the Ringwood area.
  • We enjoy nurturing children, who begin with a desire to learn about music and the piano, into young people who wouldn’t necessarily take a career in music, but have a firm foundation for playing the rest of their lives and grow up with a lively appreciation for music.
  • We also work with adults who are just beginning or are returning to the instrument after a long absence.
  • We accept students of all levels of experience from beginners just starting to students with many years of formal training who are ready to continue their learning journey.
  • We specialize in teaching classical music but also teach all interested styles of music.

Michael Nosal

About Our Director

Michael Nosal was born in Queens, New York City, and began playing the piano at the age of 5.  While attending the High School of Music and Art he performed Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” with orchestra.  He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School, studying with Constance Keene, Marc Silverman, Martin Canin, and Joseph Kalichstein; master classes in Europe with Vitaly Margulis and Justus Frantz.  Mr. Nosal gave annual faculty recitals at The Third Street Music School in New York City where he taught piano for nearly ten years in addition to performing chamber music at festivals in Maine, Ohio, and New York.  He is a recipient of the Margaret Baiz Memorial award from the National Arts Club and has taught at the Ringwood School of Music since 2004, emphasizing creative musicality as well as solid, reliable technical facility at the piano.  Mr. Nosal currently performs locally in the NY-NJ area.
